Steve
Sanders began doing competition barbecuing in 2001 and has proven
to be a consistent winner over the last
seven years. He has participated in contests from Canada to Oregon,
Idaho and Montana. In Steve’s first year of competition,
he won the award for “best new chef.” Steve’s
3rd year of competing he qualified and participated in the Jack
Daniel’s Invitational World Championships and the Kansas
City Royal Invitational. Again in 2005 he qualified and participated
in the Jack Daniels Invitational.
After
4 successful years at competition and
numerous requests Steve decided to share his passion for quality
food with others. In 2005 Smoke A Fat One BBQ became a competition
and catering business.
For
the past 2 years Steve has enjoyed sharing quality barbecue at
weddings, birthdays, company events and holidays. The barbecue
pit provides a fun atmosphere in all settings and Steve is always
willing to share information on barbecue with you and your guest.
He is dedicated to providing the best quality barbecue at a reasonable
price.
One
of Steve’s biggest pleasures is sharing his quality barbecue
at local charity events. A couple examples of this is helping
serve 3500 Soldiers returning from Iraq a barbecue dinner. Working
with a local Safeway store and cooking ribs to benefit breast
cancer research. 2006 was the first year for this event and Steve
and Pauline hope to make this an annual event.
Even
with Steve’s busy schedule he will always find time to do
competition barbecue to assure he is at his best.
